If you have a mechanical problem that prevents you from complying with this rule please advise the track official at the scales.
B. Drivers will be called no more than three (3) times to line up on Pit Road for hot laps, qualifying, heats and/or features. Running order and starting grids will be posted on the black board at the scales. It is the driver’s responsibility to check the board and to pull onto the track in the correct order. An NBS track official will assist in lining up the cars on pit road. NBS reserves the right to put you in the rear of the field if you fail to report to pit road in a timely manner.
C. Pills will be drawn at pit gate. All classes will draw. If your class is going to qualify for that night’s event, pills will determine the qualifying order.
D. NBS reserves the right to establish starting order. Example: Invert top six, start by points, etc.
E. The winner from the previous week will start no better than sixth, regardless of draw, etc. If you draw a number higher than sixth (6th), you will start where you drew. Pills will be drawn at pit gate.
F. Any questions regarding line up should be directed to the official at the scales.
G. Failure to line up in a timely manner may result in loss of starting position.
H. The race will start with a double file line up at a moderate speed.
I. The car in the pole position starts the race at the starting line. No car shall pass another car prior to passing the starting line.
J. Restarts will be single file, once one full lap has been completed by all cars.
K. Restarts will start at the starting line/stripe by the race leader. However, the flagman determines when a race is restarted.
L. If the race leader slows down to a speed less than a moderate rate of speed the green light will be turned on and the flagman will start the race. Any race leader “brake checking” on the start or restart may be put to the rear of the field.
M. Any car deemed to have jumped the start will be penalized two (2) laps. We will not stop and restart the race. Under the next caution you will be moved to the rear of the field and advised of the penalty.
N. On a restart, line up will be determined by the last completed lap with the exception of the car(s) involved in the caution. A lap is complete if half of the field has crossed the flagman stand. You MUST cross in front of the flagman stand to be scored. Pit road does not count.
O. Speedway officials will determine the car(s) that are considered to be directly involved in the accident. Those cars will restart the race in the rear of the field. If a caution has been displayed, and you are involved in an accident, it will be at the discretion of the NBS officials. We will make every effort to sort out an accident placing only those cars immediately involved in the accident to the rear of the field. NBS officials are positioned on the track and watch for contact between cars and cars that come to a halt on the track. Even if you do not come to a stop on the racing surface but are deemed to have been the cause of an accident you will be sent to the rear for restart.
P. After the first lap has been completed, if you go into the pits you will go to the rear for the restart.
Q. If you must slow or stop to avoid a wreck, and DO NOT MAKE CONTACT with the other vehicles, you will not lose your last lap position.
R. PAY ATTENTION TO THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS AT ALL TIMES.
S. After a caution the yellow light will be turned off and the green light will be flashed to advise drivers of the restart.
T. Any car spinning out three (3) or more times may be black flagged.
U. Any car entering the pit area under caution will go to the rear of the field.
V. If a car is stopped on the track by a speedway official due to parts presenting danger, the competitor will return to his position. If the track official is unable to correct the problem within minutes the car will be directed into the pit area for the crew to fix.
W. Any car intentionally slowing or stopping to bring out a caution will be penalized.
X. ONLY NBS OFFICAILS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE TRACK DURING A CAUTION OR RED LIGHT. If a member of your team comes on the track anytime after the start of the race, you will be sent to the rear of the field.
Y. When returning to the track from the pit area, reentry should be made from pit road and turn one. The NBS official will advise you when it is safe to reenter. Reentry from turn two is acceptable once the track official signals you that it is safe. NO ENTRY FROM TURN 4.
Z. If you have “trouble” please use the first available entry to the pits. Turns 1, 2 and 4 have entries to the pit.
AA. You must pay attention to all flags. The following flags are used by NBS:

13. POINTS/PURSE/PAYOFF
A. To participate in the points drivers must purchase gas from NBS weekly and purchase a pit pass.

J. Purse winnings will be available at the pit kitchen payoff window once all score sheets for every class have been reviewed. Drivers may elect to have their purse mailed each week. Please notify Karey if you wish to have your money mailed. You may also pick up your previous weeks purse at the payoff window each race day between approximately 5-6 pm.
14. RAINOUT POLICY
A. The show is considered complete if we finish the Late Model race and/or the third race of the evening. Natural Bridge Speedway reserves the right to shorten the third race in order to complete this event and thereby the show. If the third race is complete, there will be no rain checks. Points and purse money will be awarded to the classes completed. NBS will attempt to make up the races for the classes unable to compete due to rain. There are no guarantees, however we will make ever attempt. If the Late Model or third race of the night is not completed due to rain, the wrist bands for that night’s event will be your rain check. They will be good for the remainder of the 2007 race season excluding special events. No point or purse money will be awarded on any night that rain checks are given.

NBS has an obligation to all competitors to enforce the rules. Every effort is made to carry out this obligation fairly. If you have a question about the rules as they apply to your car or conduct you should contact us in advance - that is prior to the time a problem arises.
In addition, drivers and car owners are responsible for their conduct and that of crewmembers as well as fans who are identified with the team. This is a big part of our success and very important to the operation of NBS. I expect each race team to help me with conduct issues. If you do not feel comfortable with these rules you should plan to race elsewhere.
