2007 Any Car Rules
This class is intended for rookie drivers only. Drivers from higher classes are not allowed to compete. PERIOD! If you want a higher tech car, this class is not for you! Used race cars may not be entered in the Any Car class.
BODY:
A. Any Cars must be built from ex-road vehicles, not previous race cars.
B. Passenger cars and light trucks (trucks no larger than ½ ton), 1970 or newer. No convertibles.
C. Must be factory stock body with all original dimensions.
D. All glass removed except windshield.
E. All light bulbs, lenses, etc. removed.
F. All chrome removed.
G. All doors must be welded or bolted closed.
H. Trunk bolted, welded or chained shut.
I. Secure hood with chain.
AERODYNAMICS:
J. A rear spoiler is permitted limited to 5” in height.
FRAME/CHASSIS:
K. Frames must be completely stock.
L. A 1 ¾” roll cage bar above the driver’s seat is mandatory. It must bolt to the roof with no less than two (2) 7/16” bolts. Please see Exhibit A. This is the minimum requirement. You may install within the driver cockpit the roll cage you feel appropriate. (see diagram below)
M. The roll cage must be contained to the inside of the vehicle. You cannot have any roll cage material or supports past the front firewall.(see diagram below)
N. A hoop in front of radiator OK. O. Two supports may be mounted from top rear of roll cage to frame in front of rear axle.
FUEL/FUEL CELL:
P. Fuel tank must remain in stock location
Q. A NASCAR or NHRA approved fuel cell is optional. Fuel cells must be located in the trunk area, centered in the car.
R. Trucks are required to have a fuel cell located in the center of the bed. Original truck gas tank removed from factory location.
S. NBS racing fuel optional. If participating in points, you must purchase NBS fuel. No additives permitted. NBS has the right to withdraw the gas and refill with track gas.
TRANSMISSION/REAR-END:
T. Automatic transmissions only.
U. Transmission must be completely stock, just the way it left the factory.
V. No power glide transmissions.
W. No crossbreeding rear-ends.
X. Lowest gear ratio allowed 3.73.
Y. No welded spider gears or positive traction units.
BRAKES/SUSPENSION:
Z. Brakes must be original equipment for car makes and model used. No crossbreeding of parts.
AA. All suspension must remain stock. No modifications permitted. No aftermarket springs.
ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS:
BB. Engine and transmission must match body manufacturer.
CC. Engine must be completely stock, just the way it left the factory. Any Car engines found to be illegal can be confiscated by NBS.
DD. Absolutely no hi-performance parts allowed.
EE. Camshaft and Lifters
Cam must be a minimum of fourteen inches (14”). Steady vacuum at hot idle.
Vacuum port must be easily accessible for inspector.
FF. Carburetor, intake, and exhaust manifold must be stock. If it not factory, it is wrong.
GG. Radiator
Factory cooling systems only.
No after market parts allowed.
No aluminum radiators permitted.
Radiator must be in front of motor.
HH. Battery/Ignition
Battery may be relocated. It must be in a marine box and be anchored to floor pan.
II. Mufflers/Headers
MUFFLERS ARE REQUIRED. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Schoenfeld Muffler Part #IMCA 609.
Mufflers must be installed so that part number is visible.
Exhaust pipes may exit car in front of the rear wheels.
Dual exhaust OK.
ENGINE LOCATION:
JJ. Engine must remain in stock location. Just the way it left the factory.
TIRES:
KK. No mud grip tires.
WHEELS:
LL. Must run a seven inch (7”) wheel.
MM. Wheels offset must match in front and rear. Example: 4” in front 5” rear or 5” front 4” rear. Not right side, left side.
DRIVER’S EQUIPMENT:
NN. Racing seat required. No fiberglass seats.
OO. Crash helmet required. Must be Snell 2000 or later approved.
PP. Three inch seat belt, shoulder harness and crotch strap required.
QQ. Drivers must wear fireproof jacket. Fireproof pants, shoes and gloves are strongly recommended.
RR. Driver side window net required. Must release from the top.
SS. All cars will carry a 2 ½ lb. fire extinguisher.
TT. No in car radios permitted.
UU. No mirrors of any kind allowed.
WEIGHT:
VV. Base weight with driver included is 3400 lbs.
WW. Each car must display its NBS required weight in the top left corner of the windshield, or above top left corner.
XX. NBS reserves the right to adjust weight up or down to equalize competition.
YY. All added weights must be bolted to the frame, painted white and have the car number on each weight.
ZZ. Added weight must be 50/50 left and right side of vehicle.
AAA. NBS reserves the right to add weight to any car winning more than three races.
PULL CHAINS
BBB. Must have front and rear pull chains that are attached to frame. Cable may not be used.
CCC. Failure to have both will result in purse being held until in compliance.
MISCELLANEOUS:
