After a week off, roaring engines and heavy crowds poured into the Natural Bridge Speedway once again. The drivers noticeably took advantage of the extra week to tune up their cars, which awarded fans with a night packed with excitement. While the racing line-up may have been a regular point’s show, Former Racing Icons of the Valley made an appearance at the speedway to sign autographs and talk to fans about their racing careers.
Natural Bridge Speedway outlasted Mother Nature Friday night in what turned out to be a perfect night of racing on the 3/8 mile dirt oval. The night was highlighted by starting field of 16 late models. The racing program included seven feature events as members of the Good Ole Boys Racing Series were on hand for the second time in 2015 and the ladies also competed in a ten lap Powder Puff feature event.

Fireworks, cookouts, and stock car racing are all American traditions and ways to celebrate the holiday weekend. NBS speedway hosted a special Fourth of July event when rain forced race officials to postpone Friday night’s racing action to Saturday night. Both spectators and competitors came out in force to celebrate America’s birthday with some door to door, thrilling action. Regional hot shoe, Walker Arthur, proved that crate engines can be competitive in the late model division as he picked up the win to continue his stellar season.
